    Since 1884, the UK has had 9 summers where the average maxima exceeded 20°C. The first one was in 1899. Headlines back then didn't mention global warming. Hopefully, this image of the global temperatures in each of these 9 summers explains why.

    Inspired by the 's famous tweet (), I made a similar comparison of July 2018 and 1941 (the 2nd warmest July on record in Finland). Even though July 1941 was globally warm – it’s nothing compared to July 2018, especially in Europe.
