    FL's state agencies have identified millions of acres of priority lands for protection at a cost of ~$12.3 billion. At current expenditure rates, it would take 172 yrs for the state to acquire these lands. Fully

    The legislature should at least to the $100 million request from the Governor. However, the reality is that we need to significantly increase the funding beyond that level to protect our state in the future.

    At a minimum, the Leg should at the Gov's request of $100M with a goal of quickly returning this amount to $300M, which was the annual standard for decades. The FL Senate needs to counter with a higher number. The people want water and land conservation.
