    I was wondering the same thing, so I searched for a write-up. Turns out Gov. Bill Haslam didn't pardon Cyntoia, he only commuted her sentence - reducing her sentence significantly, but she's still going to have a conviction on her record.

    Also, let’s talk about how the pimp lobby is tripping over its own logic (moreso than usual lmao) on this case. If she was a “sex worker” and he a “client”, that means she had no grounds to shoot him and deserves jail. You shoot abusers, not clients.

    WE DID IT! Governor Bill Haslam just granted clemency to Cyntoia Brown! She will be released to parole supervision on August 7, 2019, after serving 15 years in prison. This is because of collective advocacy and organizing!

    Wonderful news! Cyntoia Brown has been grated clemency and will be released on August 7th. Cyntoia was a child survival sex worker who killed a client in self-defense in 2016. She has spent 14 of her 29 years in jail

    Wrongly convicted as an adult at just 16 years old, Cyntoia Brown was sentenced to life in prison. After the airing of her documentary and hashtag , social media rallied for justice in her case. Today, she was granted clemency and let out on parole 🙌🏽✨
