    I know what the law is... The problem is that the law is not just, and it is costly and difficult to renounce. I also disagree with you that EU can't do anything. Why did countries within EU sign ? They could resist, and they get nothing in return

    Do you know the feeling when you get a letter? You have lived all your life in Europe w your European parents, but realise USA claiming tax from you simply for being born there. Banks shut you out. What help do we get from Europe? NOTHING. U rather help USA than us.

    Do not oversimplify the issue. USG also tax green card holders, including those whose green card run out who are not US citizens and live outside territorial boundaries of US with no voting rights. US also has highest renunciation fee in the world. Not a free country.
