Scroll thought . All they talk about is funding. Nothing else. They profess to advocate for “equal educational opportunity & educational justice for all public school children” yet are silent on . Not one word. Why?

  2. prije 5 sati

No teeth, no compliance, no enforcement, no accountability, no justice for so many children & families. And silence from politicians & education law professors & education experts who are only focused on funding & evil charters/privateers. Nobody cares about the .

I guess 1 in 5 children, 20% of children, whose civil rights are being violated don’t matter to law academia & those in the Ivory Tower. How sad. Rates of autism & ADHD are increasing and this crisis is only going to get worse in the coming years. Yet, silence.

Albert Einstein, believed to have been on the spectrum. If he was in school today, he probably would have been inadequately supported, IEP not followed, & kicked to the curb.

We don’t regard them as the enemy. We are begging, pleading, imploring to please do more work in this particular area. I have asked you before to please refer us to any professors that work in this area. Parents need help badly. is an injustice nationwide

I’m a non-educator and mom of a IDEA-covered dyslexic. I write that 📧, I want my emotions documented—but I do not hit send until I read/edit it the next day. Parents and educators have a challenging task, but responsibility to the child’s wellbeing is 1st.

WESELPA in CA won’t allow providers to both assess and treat but they have no problem with districts doing that. It’s one of the many ways they talk out both sides of their mouth.

When will you research the deadly connection b/w and America’s youth epidemic? Our vulnerable children are supposed to be protected by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, , but clearly they’re NOT.

The only collaboration they desire is to sell their junk via fundraisers and copy and staple their papers. Heaven forbid you desire to share an opinion on what your child needs, then they drag you to due process.

I understand teachers need to feed their families. But we should not give them a pass for lying to us at IEP meetings & being complicit in civil rights violations by staying silent and not advocating for their students.

: Great! And what are you doing to address the disability discrimination going on in traditional public schools as well?

What are the odds political appointees violate investigation protocols to sweep IDEA-covered students’ complaints of under the rug, Derek? “‘I’m gonna take 99% odds for $725 billion in funding, Alex.’” IDEA-covered Children need a whistleblower, please?

: public schools are discriminating against disabled kids every day. Scroll through and you will see the stories. They don’t follow IEPs & get away with it. Parents have no real recourse because they lose the majority of the time.

English is the ONLY language I speak. I am an involved, educated, vigilant parent. The school still didn’t follow my child’s IEP with fidelity or provide services consistently. They failed my child.

Meanwhile, guess what they call mothers (who happen to be top medical doctors) in IEP meetings? Answer: Mom

Imagine how the kids feel. Their mental health matters too. Such as this child who committed rather than spend another day at the school that failed him...

That’s why I fight for IDEA to be fully funded & enforced with greater accountability. And options for kids who can’t wait, such as this , child who committed the day before school opened because it was that intolerable for him.
