    Evangelicals: People using exaggerated language to score political points is the worst. Also Evangelicals: If you let two men get married, you also have to let women fuck giraffes. There is no middle ground, they will destroy our families!

    Some of us have found that using exaggerated language on Twitter to describe the views of people we disagree with is really effective for attention, retweets, and new followers. It’s terrible for our souls and very unloving towards other brothers and sisters.

    As a kid I wondered why Noah was the only person in the world who had a boat at the time of the Flood. Seemed suspicious to me. Once had someone answer my question with "God could have broken all the other boats so no one would escape their punishment".

    I was today years old when I realized that 4 of the 5 denominational affiliations I was a part of have had either sex abuse scandals or cults or both. Fuck the whole thing. I’m out.

    Cults and mind-control groups are good at implanting phobias in follower's minds. Some in evangelicalism: the fear of Hell, and the loss of one's salvation. Another is losing community & family, should you decide to leave the church. These can also be triggering!

    All proselytizing makes me crazy. When people show up at the front door I usually let them have it. My favorite is to tell them I don’t knock on their door to convince them that Buffy is the best show ever, because it’s rude to push your beliefs on people who didn’t ask.

    Half of Americans are wrong, and the community is going to keep changing our national conversation around evangelicalism. Get used to it, evangelicals. You no longer control the whole narrative, which is no honest person's definition of persecution.
