    Please avoid having any impact on the lava it self. Drawing, carwing or any manipulation harms the experience for other guests and might end up with limited access for guests.

    Coast Guard ship deployed west of due to reports of steam rising from the ocean. No signs of on any sensors but decision was made to deploy vessel to check if underwater eruption has started.

    A very important message from the Icelandic Environment Agency . Please do not entre the lava field, it might look cold but it is not. There is 1200˚C lava bubbling underneeth the black crusted surface.

    🇮🇸🌋 The Stampar craters are a remnant of the latest effusive eruption in now 800 years ago. No had occurred in this area until 19-3-‘21 when a fissure vent appeared south of mountain.

    Northly or variable 3-10 m/s so gas is mainly advected to the south but can be measured in towns close to the eruption site as well. Possibility that older can be detected in the southwest part of Iceland.

    Fantastic eruption episode from our friends at The Reykjavík Grapevine . In the episode the host Alina uses the Hawaiian term "vog" for the eruption fog or mist that surrounds the eruption site and often reaches Reykjavík.

    3. I got to see the eruption! I had hiked to see it the day before but it was not showing any activity. Yesterday it was spectacular! I’ve always loved volcanoes and have dreamed of seeing one erupt. Now I have 😊

    Southeast 8-13 m/s today, so gas pollution may be detected in the NW-part of Reykjanes peninsula. Northwest 3-8 m/s tomorrow, so gas pollution could be expected in places on the south face of Reykjanes peninsula.
