Do you not know why exists? It's to urge people, to give them permission to leave churches which are toxic. It's not a call to 'destroy all churches', it's a call to stop giving your time and money to far right, homophobic, patriarchal, colonizing churches.

    3. More substantively, as is all too typical for , I find this piece annoyingly sympathetic to evangelicals' and other conservative Christians' sense of being "beleaguered." THEY. ARE. NOT. PERSECUTED. They are pathological authoritarians

True Reagan-era Conservative Republicans called for fewer restrictions on business & small central government. Funny, they never address areas where they break the law--taxes, campaign finance, banks, Wall Street. Cheney = FEAR monger. And Evangelicals = hypocrits.

I think the satanic temple uses the superstitions of the religious to fight for the separation of church and state. They don't believe in the nonsense, but I imagine they enjoy laughing about making those who do squirm. 🤣 Their tenants are spot on, too.

The problem with the church is that it has intrinsically tied itself to faith. The two actually ARE mutually exclusive. It has always been the institution of the church that has been the weak link.

  14. As Catholic bishops meet in Mundelein, victims of sexual abuse in Chicago slam church leadership, call for church to talk with victims

Ok - this is more crap from a paralyzed UMC. The Book of Discipline is basically worthless and, like any denomination, they pick and choose what is politically convenient at the time.
