The behaviour in my class is tough going. It's a struggle trying to understand the needs of the children being disruptive whilst also trying to ensure the others get their needs met too. They just want to learn. It's exhausting & I'm losing my sparkle.

If you’re in class today and you come across a child that can’t calm down, in that moment remember that what they immediatly need is comfort, and for you to connect with them, not criticism and control. The impact will be almost immediate.

Hey,
#edutwitter - we have a question for you for the next podcast! As teachers we’re quite often guilty of the phrase ‘Do as I say, not as I do.’ So tell us - what are you hypocritical about to your own class? Listen to some examples from Jordan below, and let us know! pic.twitter.com/3w6kaWPevq -
I find Ss are more engaged in research if they know what they are going to be doing with the info afterwards. Sounds obvious but it’s easy to get Ss to find facts and then reveal a secret task. Signposting the outcome helps them to decide what to note/discard.
