    The good news from the is that there are paper records marked by hand to confirm results. But the problems w: the app undermined voter confidence & are hopefully a learning moment. We must minimize unnecessary use of electronics in elections.

    Das Iowa Debakel hat nun wirklich nichts mit zu tun. Es war das Konzept der Übermittlung der Resultate. In der Schweiz sollte E-Voting möglich sein genau wie E-Banking. Vermutlich kann E besser kontrolliert werden und bringt höhere Stimmbeteiligung

    Who is going to understand the proof? Granny? Nephew? Also, handling material ballots (the papertrail) involves a much, much larger proof of work.

    The Iowa Caucus Tech Meltdown Is a Warning. The Iowa results will come in eventually, thanks to a paper trail. But it underscores just how much can go wrong when you lean on unnecessary, untested tech.

    Attorney & Election Integrity Advocate has researched this issue completely & says that cannot be secured so should never be used in elections. Totally scrapped. Read Jennifer Cohn's articles here. >

    The Iowa Caucus debacle will (unfortunately) influence e-voting for the next decade. With proper planning, testing, training, and a key mgt plan (passcodes) this could have all been avoided.

    YES! Exactly Rodney. Touchy databases should NOT be used EVER. NO (easy to hack), NO electronic voting rolls (easy to delete/suppress) & NO computer apps for reporting (they can fail). Must use & >Follow on Evoting info.

    As the concerns about e-voting grew after the Iowa caucus vote, I’m getting excited to rewrite my conference paper about the e-voting experience on NTU student elections!

    Dear sociologists, what are some good literature on voting technologies? Low tech, high tech, whatever, all are welcome. Or point me to threads that I should follow, please.
