  11. Lady Mary Heath was not one to comply with the male establishment. In the golden age of pioneering aviation, which was dominated by men, Heath flaunted her femininity, taking to the skies adorned in a fur coat, pearls and high heels!

  12. Did you know that Lady Mary Heath became Britain’s first officially recognised female commercial pilot? She paved the way for other women to follow and performed public flight demonstrations and stunts. Read more about her life here:

  13. Born in Limerick in 1896, Lady Mary Heath was the first person to fly solo across Africa, from South Africa to London, an epic journey she undertook in an open-air cockpit! Watch her story on now!
