    will easily be in our top 10 of 2019 come January. It runs a tad long, but Zahler has blown us away yet again. His signature dark humor, grindhouse-style violence, & a surprising level of heart are abundant. Gibson & Vaughn are astounding. We give it a 9/10

    Welp, S. Craig Zahler is a strong 3-for-3. is always surprising, always button-pushing, always the work of a confident & singular voice. It’s grimy & complicated. Zahler’s dialog is his dalliance, but he spends the long movie fleshing out human beings.

    is quite the watch. Absolutely mesmerising, suffused by creeping dread, grindhouse-violent, but also subtle and poignant with Mamet-level hyperreal dialogue. I do love a film where you have absolutely no idea where it’s going, but the ending was perfect.
