    At Kildonan-East Collegiate, teacher Ebony Hunter’s Grade 10/11 class made ofrendas—altars for loved ones who have passed—to celebrate El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). They also decorated skull sugar cookies supplied by KEC’s Pastry Arts program.

    The fifth grade had their annual Day of the Dead presentation in Señora Uribe's Spanish class. Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink & celebration.
