    For Day 29, it's the one & only , which needs no introduction & was recently redescribed this very year! It's also the first definitive crown crocodyilian on the roster, and was a distant relative to living alligators and caimans.

  9. I don’t have many pieces with backgrounds. I really like the results when I do. Something I should expand on... eventually.

    Thought it would be fun to do a brief post for my illustration. Rough draft, PAIN, MORE PAIN, and final version. I’ll post a more detailed thread on Friday going over some of the exciting (and bizarre) aspects of this animal’s anatomy!

    HAPPY CROCTOBER & Happy ! The rear teeth of anicent crocs were short, rounded, and blunt- better for crushing than piercing their prey. This at the American Museum of Natural History displays its big toothy grin.

    Happy everyone! This time, we will be talking about ! A new study about shows that it had teeth the size of bananas (same size as a ). In fact, this croc was more closely related to and even looked very different.

    This male is following a dried-out riverbed on the search for water. A late cretaceous drought hit all wildlife and the body of this deceased relative of attracted the Therizinosaurus' attention.
