    It doesn’t matter whether Walter Wallace Jr. had a knife or not. The job of the police is to deescalate not murder. The only time they seem to be able to do this is when it’s a white a suspect.

    This is Walter Wallace Jr., who police shot killed in Philadelphia yesterday. He was 27 years old and the father of three children. Rest in power, Walter.

    Racism exists. Systemic racism exists. We can't in good faith ignore the things happening right now and deny it. From propaganda photos, to murders, to cover ups and lawsuits by those who committed those murders --this isn't a trend. The fight is ongoing.

    William Wallace Jr. should've been met with caring mental health professionals who connected him with services and comforted his family. But 911 only sends police. Tell to and invest in emergency first responders who can deescalate.

    My sister was stopped for speeding. I was in the back seat, he asked for all our IDs. I said no, there was no need for me to provide it since I wasn't driving. I didn't get pulled out of the car like this. It's racism and police know it.

    Looks like Philly PD smashed the windows of a passing vehicle that was trying to turn around, then dragged the parents out and beat them on the ground in front of their terrified children. []
