    DC HEATWAVE TAKES ITS TOLL: cool down with the volunteer canteen unit after fighting a blaze on 14th St in sweltering heat. Our readings showed air temp at 102 and outside building temp at 107. The unit takes vitals, provides chairs, cold drinks, misters and wipes.
