    great to be in the office today & meet actual people! Also delivered a virtual session on focusing on the amendments, what was left out ie a register of serial offenders & . It’s great that people I work with want to hear and learn about this!

    Proud of this report we launched last night. is the third biggest cause of homelessness & has spiralled this year . Without protecting migrant women and a joined up housing & homelessness strategy the risks failing survivors.

    So so impressed by how far women’s charities have managed to get the , when it was initially published while I was it was narrow & weak. It’s now including such important new laws around misogyny as a hate crime, perp register, funding. Seriously impressive.

    We are calling on the government to amend its Domestic Abuse Bill, which reaches its report stage in the House of Lords today, to extend coercion as a defence for a range of crimes.

  18. I always said expert led training is key. law we originally drafted included a 10 year sentence. When I spoke with re I recommended it was increased to 10. She said I was the only one who had made this rec. I’m glad to see that has changed

    When children are classified as primary victims of domestic abuse through the the family court system will have to change. They can no longer say children are not at risk from a parent that is abusive to their partner because they will legally be victims. Change coming.
