Last Sundance Film Festival I worked with the cast/directors of Crip Camp. Dealing with "accessible" venues was very eye opening. Like wow the worlds not set up well for people with disabilities New homes should be required to be built with at least 1 door thats legit accessible

And to your point there's certainly more to say about the cases you mention. I was thinking about how the Obamas' influence on the documentary Crip Camp likely contributed to its unambiguously (and unreasonably) positive ending to the radical history of Disability Rights.

Watch the movie "Crip Camp" on Netflix for a real education on just how bad things were before the disability rights movement forcibly occupied federal buildings & more to shame our government into changing laws about physical disabilities. We still need more work on that. 10/10

People are starving. People can't heat their homes. People can't get the help, support, treatment and healthcare they need. Homelessness. Disabled people treated like criminals. The Tories corrupt crooks to the core. Where's the Netflix series on those?
🌟This month, we are featuring Cal-related books, podcasts, music & films. 🎬Crip Camp, Netflix "... shows how a summer camp in upstate New York galvanized a generation of activists and influenced Berkeley’s disability rights movement." -

Crip Camp” is a great movie. If you haven’t yet, you should see it. You may hate it because the protests in it will serve to remind you that in the battle for minority rights and safety, intersectionality is and always has been your friend.

I thought 'Crip Camp' was a magnificent documentary. Everyone should watch it. I didn't see the protests full of non-disabled "disabled" activists, though.

The disabled people in your replies who have such a poor knowledge of our own political/activist history... I'd feel bad for them if they weren't being so awful!

I really hope you are feeling better. Some documentaries that might be fun to watch: Free Solo, Crip Camp, 20 feet From Stardom and Rescue. If you have never seen Inside Job ( Oscar, Best Documentary 2010) It is extraordinary but not uplifting and will make you furious.
