  1. Meet Jorge! 👋 He lives in Tijuana and found out about WCK through Diestro Soccer Down, an inclusion soccer league for people with Down syndrome. Jorge joins us every Friday and makes grilled cheese sandwiches on the flat top before preparing salads!

  6. Families living in the refugee camp come places like El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, & Mexico. This child helped our team all night before taking control of the speaker, playing his favorite music & relaxing after a long day.

  7. And now, it's time for dinner from the WCK tent! We get a lot of help from volunteers coming in as well as refugees living in the camp. Many of the kids enjoy helping to clean up both before and after the meal, along with serving food to others.

  8. With the help of Team Brownsville and their volunteers, we walk all fresh meals across the bridge over the Rio Grande river.

  9. Our team then loads the Cambros full of food and takes them to the bus depot where we meet with our partner Team Brownsville to walk the food across the border.

  11. Each day, WCK's Chef Relief Team serves dinner to refugees living in tents at the US-Mexico border waiting for their asylum cases to be heard. For various reasons including violence, finances, and more, families are unable to return home while they wait.

  12. Before we arrived, Maria was cooking for the refugee camp every Thursday night from her church in Matamoros, Mexico. She’s now joined WCK along with Juanita and with their help, we’re serving more than 1000 refugees each day.

  13. WCK is here at the border between Texas & Mexico to provide a warm plate of food served with love, compassion, and a friendly smile.

  14. Our WCK Relief Food Truck in Brownsville, TX is cooking for more than 1,000 refugees currently living at the border in Matamoros. Chef Elyssa is sautéing apples, sweet potatoes, and carrots in some milk and buttermilk to serve with pulled pork and salsa verde!

  15. Last night, our Chef Relief Team in Matamoros, Mexico, across the border from Brownsville, Texas, cooked the first meals from WCK's newest Relief Food Truck. We'll be here serving fresh meals to the refugees living in tents as long as we're needed.

  16. The provides warm, dignified, &nutritious meals to families at the southern border supporting immigrant families and in Colombia for Venezuelan refugees, among many other places.

  17. At the same time that we’ve been responding in the Bahamas, we still have a team cooking every day in Tijuana! This is Briana and she’s staying at a shelter we are serving with her mother Maria who works with us. She’s helping prepare Chicken Teriyaki!
