    I had a little imposter syndrome outside no 10 yesterday - but I quickly got over it. As care leavers, our lived experience more than qualifies us to be in spaces where political decisions are made. The gov should be honoured to have us visit, not the other way round

    I’ve been saying this for the longest time as a I don’t want to be called resilient for every bit of trauma that was forced upon me to deal with

    A very special friend just posted this on FB explaining why as a care experienced adult she hates the word resilient... Can we stop celebrating resilience in children and give them (and the people who care for them) the support and love they need and deserve 💕

    Top advice for anyone fostering, adopting, working in social work or just caring for anyone - especially those who are away from family? Take photos, record memories. My photos from foster placements are some of my most cherished possessions.

    this weekend I had the pleasure of finally meeting my care experienced family in person. Just spending a few hours with people who represent you and that you identify with is so refreshing. The community is amazing, im so proud to be part of it

    To this day, if I identify to others that I was placed in a group home (aka Resi) a variety of responses are received. Often along the lines of “I have a friend who’s a social worker & they’ve told me horrific stories about those kids” And it’s a fact in social services 2/3

    21 years since I was taken into care, 1 year since this tweet. Shouting it again from the rooftops, FOSTER KIDS CAN SUCCEED!

    20 years ago all my things were packed into two black bags and a stranger took me away from my home. I was 4 years old. 14 years in care, an undergrad and an MA later, I'm sitting at my desk in a job that I love, in the field I want to be in. Foster kids can succeed.

    Please consider signing the petition. This will impact all of the community but create greater vulnerability and risk to those leaving their childhood homes for independent living. No child should be left without suitable accommodation and care 👇👇

    I’m down in London tomorrow to be apart of the delegation of care experienced people to hand in the petition A petition that is so unbelievably important to protecting vulnerable children. ⬇️

    Looking forward to hearing their justification at Judicial Review 8/9th Feb. Can we follow online ? (On a side note, how callous to tell over 10,700 signatories, the community and especially those who went to No10 that their concerns are "categorically untrue").

    "Categorically untrue is the response from Gov" would you stop caring for your own children at 15? Then say it's OK, I've done my job, they have a roof over their heads?
