The truth is, Conservatives hate the carbon tax because it is progressive and returns the revenue back to Canadians directly, not corporations. They dislike the fact that carbon taxes are not an upward wealth redistribution scheme, or a form of trickle down.

Emissions of CO2 are going up in British Columbia even though we have the highest carbon tax in all of Canada. BC government stats posted online before Christmas show a rising trend.

They always move the goalposts. Everyday people are struggling to make ends meet here largely because of our insane taxes & fees & the thinking that leads to them. We pay largely at the pump & on our natural gas bills & on everything we need trucked to us. Most things.

Does it have the highest taxes? Last I checked it was tied for lowest income taxes in the most common brackets. The enables that. BC's economy is doing well as a result.

The effects of a on ag will be debilitating and detrimental to each producer as there is absolutely no potential to recover those incurred costs from the consumer. The brunt is born solely by the producers. Again, this hurts ongoing ROI & affects long term viability.

Carbon dioxide emissions are going UP ⬆️ in BC even though we have the highest in Canada. We were told this big tax would reduce carbon emissions, create a “social license” for our oil and gas extraction & sale & be revenue neutral. Not true!

Once again: we were told that a would reduce carbon dioxide emissions. It’s not. CO2 emissions are going up even though we have he highest carbon tax in Canada. Oh, and no “social license” has been granted for our natural resources. Sure enough the goalposts are moved.

Can someone please explain to me how they think a revenue neutral can reduce emissions? Cause this honestly just seems like the biggest shell game.

Less tax? But you have a carbon tax, and we don't. See Doug's point is that HE is the reason that gas is cheap. He's not. And ANDREW wants to tell everyone that Justins will make gas more expensive. It doesn't. Conservatives are just good at fearmongering.

Looking forward to speaking with CO2 emissions are going UP aim BC even though we have the highest in Canada. When politicians imposed this on people we were told it would reduce emissions, create a social license, fund green energy & be revenue neutral.
