I think shame starts to play a real issue in many of these areas too, including tech debt & discount. It can feel like AA - “Hi, I’m Brian & I have technical debt.” :) Open conversations among peers, at cabinet, and with board are key - but not common enough.

Maybe I’m strange, but I don’t organize for digital transformation any differently than I do transformation. Build urgency, put a good team together, then get their barriers out of their way.

#CIOChat A1. Besides culture and risk avoidance mentality, I think that technical debt plays a big part. Another big part is inability to build a vision and strategy that can be provided to the board and discussed with leadership team. This vision will show them how to get there
