    When I read stories like this all I can think of is how we desperately need to raise the minimum wage in Charleston County, increase employment programs and learning programs for our youths that extend beyond the regular school day

    Dr. O was a Lowcountry legend. Highly respected & highly sought after for his wisdom for everything from education to Gullah. He was the man! I interviewed him last year and he displayed that great wisdom. I saw him very recently on Coming St. and he was so nice. RIP.

    I’d love to see the City of Charleston and the Visitor’s Bureau spend less money on advertising and more money increasing African American tourism 🙄

    UPDATE: Charleston County Council has unanimously approved new FEMA flood maps for the county. It's the first update since 2004. They will go into effect in January 2021.

  17. Keeping Dr. Ade Ofunniyin’s family in my thoughts & prayers. He was respected in the community & CofC professor. I interviewed him in June where he was calling for initiatives in Charleston to support African Americans & to preserve black history and contributions.
