    An escaped control burn Saturday, the fourth this week in the Russian River region of Sonoma County, underlies how dry the vegetation is. Sonoma County is currently in a severe drought, exacerbated by another record temperature today.

    This is crazy. Critical fire conditions in the northern foothills in December. Will be okay without power for a couple of days - the lack of green grass is more problematic.

    The latest monitor shows tremendous improvement for Southern California -consecutive days of record rainfall in the past 2 weeks has ELIMINATED drought categories for all of SoCal. With more rain on the way 👍🏽

    Pulling away momentarily from coronavirus coverage, the rain deficit is really piling up, Santa Rosa is 13.45 inches below normal. I can't remember the last time I saw dust in a vineyard in early March.

    Following a dry Jan. and Feb, March precipitation across San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties has been above average so far this month. Still below average for the water year.
