  3. You are hurting this city by holding up projects that have already been approved by the Metro Council and the previous Mayor. You are opening the city up to lawsuits that will cost this city’s taxpayers millions of $.

    The word you were looking for was “renege” not “response” and if you should refuse to uphold metro’s side of the already agreed upon deal the legal term would be “lawsuit.” Where do you think the money will come from losing said lawsuit? The taxpayers.

    Nashville only has one chance to get this right. The site needs to be developed with intentionality - it has to be beautiful and support our community. We have to keep the promises we’ve already made, but we don’t owe more than we promised.

    I don’t live Nashville but I’m a season ticket holder for three years. I’ve brought over 100 different people to Nashville for games during that stretch. I’m a little invested. But if the team offers to cover infrastructure overages then it’s not about the money.
