  7. Government resettlment plans for relocating the people of Mt. Elgon region. These were drawn 4yrs ago. Commissioner for Refugees & Disaster Preparedness says 115,000 people are at high risk. 66 landslides have happened in the region since May.

    Back then, March 2010 when the landslides hit Bududa. Initiatives that were announced to get people out of this disaster prone area hv not materialised

  10. The first families who survived were today moved, relocated & resettled into houses constructed by in Bunambutye, Bulambuli District. More households most at risk on the slopes of Mt Elgon will be relocated in the coming days.

  11. The relocation of over 100,000 families from Bulambuli to Bunambutye in Bulambuli district was approved by the regional leaders. About 900 houses are to be constructed in Bunambutye Sub_County for the relocated families
