Great job @awhager and @EmilyFairfax for getting this compelling story out there! One #SilverLining of all these fires, is we are seeing so many examples that the role of #BeaverDamActivity in mitigating impacts of fires is not just a fluke. As this old tired slide suggests... twitter.com/EmilyFairfax/s…

Monrovia Fire & Rescue firefighters spent 5 days in Ashland, Oregon, to assist with the #BootlegFire before being reassigned to the #DixieFire on July 20. Our firefighters join nearly 50 personnel from the SGV who are aiding in firefighting efforts in Plumas County.

More #BootlegFire maps. We often hear that roads help stop fires. There are enough miles of road in the fire perimeter to stretch from OR to Mexico and back again! Large weather (climate) driven fires behave differently from smaller ground fires that are more easily controlled.

Our wildland fire team checked in yesterday as they continue to work at the #BootlegFire in OR. They have been doing structure triage and prep. As you can see in some of the photos below, a foil-type wrap is used to help protect structures from radiant heat and burning embers.
