    Safe to say that our November 2019 was nothing like the November 2019 depicted in Blade Runner. I personally remember more fire and less reliable phone reception.

    Though it isn't explained why emotion is a capital offence it runs off from the idea that intimacy is something to be feared. That connections and feelings make us dangerous

  12. Notice how with each film the robots are becoming less and less identifiable? First we had Hal, and now "Replicants" who are almost indistinguishable from Humans?

    Punk culture during the 70s/80s was an underground rebellion that revolted against the establishment. Punks were seen as outcasts from proper society. It's a perfect look for these Replicants as it somewhat signifies their status as "lesser" people.

    Scott & his collaborators embraced neon colors as a key aspect of the palette. Although set in Los Angeles, it was very clearly touching upon a recognisable future based on the abundance of neon that dominated commercial districts of ’80s Asian cities.

    It’s really interesting how in these movies which we have been watching have had FaceTime. It makes me think, was FaceTime something which was considered a big part of the future?
