    This is actually quite astonishing! The Black Hole at the centre of our Milky Way galaxy only appears the same size in the sky to us as a doughnut on the moon would! Phenomenal!

    Light always has the same speed. However, the effects of space-time curvature can make light passing near a strong gravitational field, such as from a black hole, appear to a distant observer to be delayed or slowed down as it passes. This effect is called the Shapiro time delay.
