35 years ago The tornado in Edmonton will be forever etched into my mind. At only 7 years old the scenes were horrific for me. It made me scared of storms for many years. But today I chase storms so I can ease my anxiety. Many lost their lives. July 31 was and is #BlackFriday

35 years ago today, the worst tornado in Edmonton history tore through parts of Edmonton and Evergreen Trailer Park. I lived in the park then but lost my home that day. I wasnβt home but my dog was and she wasnβt injured physically. She was terrified of storms after. #BlackFriday

One of Canada's most destructive tornadoes slammed Edmonton, Alberta. The high-end F4 devastated industrial and residential sections of the city, leading to 27 deaths (second-most in Canada's history) and 300 injuries. >6" hail accompanied the twister.
