    Beach Park Incident: 7 of the 37 transported to area hospitals are in critical, but sable condition. This includes one firefighter. A total of 11 firefighters and 3 police officers were transported to the hospital.

    Today, Sheriff’s Detectives and members of NTSB will be working together, continuing to investigate the dangerous chemical leak which occurred yesterday in Beach Park.

    My heart goes out to the victims of the (many of them ). Unfortunate and distressing that a dangerous chemical was allowed to escape into a residential area and everyone involved was caught seemingly unawares.

    All schools are open today, Thursday April 25. We will carefully monitor but this is not impacting our community at this time.

    A left at least 37 people hospitalized, seven of whom are listed in critical condition. The released a massive amount of anhydrous ammonia, a colorless, deadly gas, into the surrounding area.
