RIP Barry. Top guy who would always love to natter about comedy. Here's my favourite story he told me when I first met him while making a Kenny Everett doc in 2016. He insisted I stayed for lunch and in recent years often rang for a catch-up.

First met #BarryCryer in 1985 at Southwark Crown Court. I was 19 & working for a legal firm. He was giving evidence in a trial. I helped him fill in his expense form. Months later at a recording of Just A Minute he recognised me & introduced me to my comic hero Kenneth Williams.
