    I didn't find any of my. books on the Texas list, but Drum Dream Girl was banned in York, Pennsylvania, and has now been "temporarily" unbanned. I can't imagine why they objected to a girl playing drums in Cuba in the 1930s.

    I just learned that The Arabic Quilt by along with many other children’s books is in a list of for kids by Central York school board in Pennsylvania. Many students have been protesting over this list. Kanzi and Molly are protesting too!

  14. All children should have access to all kinds of books about and by all kinds of people. This is simply morally wrong. I will fight this every day.

  15. I love this beautiful book by about a girl’s celebration of her first period. I also love that it’s trans inclusive. This is on the list of books authorities are attempting to ban in Texas. Kids deserve access to empowering books!
