    I didn't find any of my. books on the Texas list, but Drum Dream Girl was banned in York, Pennsylvania, and has now been "temporarily" unbanned. I can't imagine why they objected to a girl playing drums in Cuba in the 1930s.

    I just learned that The Arabic Quilt by along with many other children’s books is in a list of for kids by Central York school board in Pennsylvania. Many students have been protesting over this list. Kanzi and Molly are protesting too!

    I love this beautiful book by about a girl’s celebration of her first period. I also love that it’s trans inclusive. This is on the list of books authorities are attempting to ban in Texas. Kids deserve access to empowering books!
