The dismissal of the kidnapping case filed against #BakwitSchool7 proves that the supposed "rescue operation" by the PNP was indeed an assault, an illegal raid. The 7 must be released immediately and the perpetrators of the violent Lumad School Raid must be made accountable.

Cebu said that the health situation of Esmelito "Esme" Oribawan, a detained Lumad student, and Datu Benito Bay-Ao, a Lumad Elder, continued to worsen.

In February, the Makabayan Bloc filed House Resolution 1590 to pursue a congressional investigation on the illegal raid on the Lumad Bakwit sanctuary and school in Cebu. The dismissal of the cases vs #BakwitSchool7, makes this investigation on the incident imperative.

The USC administration said no rescue was needed for the Lumad children.
