    was designed in 1944 to give quarantine authority to health authorities to protect collective health. It is now being misapplied to determine which non-citizens might be forcibly removed, and to deny their of applying for asylum.

    The view of the UNHCR - that the US is violating its treaty obligations - should be a part of every media report on Title 42. (Indeed, US is also obligated to take such UNHCR views into account given its supervisory capacity under the Refugee Protocol.)

    Why won't the Govt grant from permanent residence? It will allow them to live and work with certainty, enable them to bring their families to safety, and enrich Australian society. Please show some heart!

    We are urging the Aus government to provide permanent protection for refugees from Afghanistan. it has been too long keeping refugees on temp visas. Afg is not safe for us to return, at least give us a chance to live here permanently
