Dreaming of M8... As the lid continues to cover us here in the northeast - I reminisce of warm nights under a clear summer sky in the backyard. Here is Messier 8, the Lagoon Nebula captured with the ZWO ASI294MC Pro back in August.

The future of smartphone
#astrophotography is going to be wild. Photo on the right, which I captured last night with a very compact telescope, was calibrated and integrated in real-time by a smartphone...

The Pelican Nebula! A handsome emission nebula in Cygnus (right next to the North America Nebula). 45 x 5-minutes using a one-shot-color ASI294MC Pro and duo-NB filter.

I managed to get more images of the Virgo Supercluster of Galaxies with a Samyang 135mm F2 lens Love taking these galaxies as they are so far away. The light from these galaxies are about 53 million light years away.

Made some improvements to my Whirlpool galaxy image M51... I might even try to recapture it using much more than the 12-13 subs I did this time.

A moon halo was briefly seen here in Herne Bay earlier, caused by millions of tiny ice crystals in thin clouds splitting and reflecting off the sun’s light, briefly causing this 22° halo around the moon!
