    Three years ago, a day after celebrating the 4th of July with his family, was brutally tased and killed by the police. In a climate where 70% of prosecutors run unopposed, we cannot let those in power promise change and continue to fail Black lives.

    Baton Rouge is marked by a long history of segregation and racist policing. After Baton Rouge police killed Alton Sterling in 2016, local politicians promised reform. But there has been little to no progress and in many ways the situation has gotten worse.

    Early reports of a police standoff happening at the same Triple S store in Baton Rouge where police killed .

    The front door to the business is propped open with a case of water while works to communicate with those inside and a helicopter is flying overhead. Very large perimeter out here, avoid the area
