“In the six years since Mike Brown was killed, Atlanta has repeatedly brought celebrities in to calm the outrage. In 2016, Mayor Kasim Reed invited Usher to a meeting that was meant to be for
#ATLisReady organizers, and no one knew why Usher was there.” https://twitter.com/HalfAtlanta/status/1267592545967771650 … -

My first protest rally was in Atlanta. Back in 2015. They always show in powerful and beautiful ways. Shout out to the organizers there.

i was sad today during the Atlanta protests, because I think about how
#ATLisReady sparked just 4 years ago from similar uprisings. and i imagined all that could have been possible if the 10,000 people then had sustained that investment in radical change for just 4 short years. -
