"Just because you are struggling doesn't mean you're failing." Such an important distinction, and something that we need to help instill in kids who have dyslexia. If a student is struggling, it means they are trying! We need to encourage this perseverance.

So it’s official, one of the side effects from my adhd medication is dry mouth. It has DESTROYED my teeth as there is no saliva to counteract any bacteria. If you take a stimulant medication - PLEASE tell your dentist and ask for help to counteract.

Are stimulants for
#ADHD effective in the long-term? In this new Debate in#JAACAP, Prof Jim Swanson and Prof@dave_coghill argue "against" and "for" the motion, respectively. Who is the winner? I would say both!pic.twitter.com/1KtdfA5SB5

#ADHD is walking downstairs to do a thing, forgetting and doing 6 other things, followed by sitting down at your desk and going: “fuck, I forgot to do the thing” Repeat as necessary. I’ve accomplished 12 things, but not that one thing I wanted to get done. -
You know what gets really old? When people try to make
#ADHD seem all cute and quirky or when someone does something slightly ditzy and jokes saying, “Lol, I’m so ADHD!” It’s annoying and NOT CUTE. This is a real disorder, mental illness, learning disability— whatever you want...Показать эту ветку -

Today my child was told his disability was ‘annoying other students’ & that there were occasions where none of his peers wanted to work with him. On the way home he cried & put his head in my lap. We wonder why suicide rates are at epidemic levels. We need to do better

So, on Monday at the ripe age of 42, I was diagnosed with ADHD. I've suspected it ever since I started researching into ADHD for my son. Now I know it, I don't know what to do with it??
