Folks, remember that viral hashtag #僧衣でできるもん ("I can do this in a monk robe")? Looks like police admitted to defeat, saying a Fukui monk caught driving while wearing that traditional robe was NOT breaking a law after all😁

Japanese cop ticketed a monk for driving in his religious robes, claiming they interfered with his ability to drive. So Japan’s monks clap back by posting great vids with a hashtag meaning “ICanDoItInMyRobes”. Adorbs! #僧衣でできるもん

Maybe it’s like the #僧衣でできるもん hashtag, which trended for a while. It showed athletic monks doing awesome stuff in kimono / robes.

It was to protest that a priest was arrested for driving a car in this clothing
The case has been dropped!
