Medical Image Perception....Don't leave town without it! Spend 10-20 minutes at the Perception Lab (Lakeside) and help one of 21 labs get the data that they need.

So glad to have found , an alternative to the costly iClicker. Even more impressed that I got very timely tech support from the creator. If you use clickers in class, consider this FREE and awesome web-based alternative!

1/ A not so short history/thread on my transformation how I taught (and thought of) variable assignment in : '<-' has major conceptual/semantic advantages over '='

I will be asking students to submit critiques of recent papers. I want to use non-peer reviewed preprints, and incentivize students by submitting/publishing the best critiques (after I give fdbk on their fdbk). Is this viable? Suggestions on where to submit?

Hey tweeps: I'm curious what you think about the state of theoretical models of face recognition (individuation specifically). What do you think is our best model to date? <1/n>

LOL. What a great stream. At a conference now and i'm *glad* to not see any posters with this design. But I do think it has made folks think twice about text-heavy posters, which is great

Many of you will have seen this video before, but if not, take a look. It's a great demonstration that cats and humans may share some aspects of visual processing that drive the rotating snakes illusion.
