Not all the physiology is worked out for why, but yes, sleeping less than the recommended amount does increase the risk of heart disease... as does night shift work! Sleep tight!

I get about 3-4 h/night. I always feel tired when I wake up & then after about 6 days of that I will sleep really hard for one night. My brain doesn’t stop thinking at night. I’ve considered asking my doctor for a sleeping pill, but I’m afraid I won’t wake up if my kids need me.
