When I read books, I generally favor non-fiction. Lately I feel like the premise of most non-fiction business books could be sufficiently expressed in a fraction of the length that the authors devote to the topic. Either that, or I’m just becoming more impatient and grumpier

@Harjeet Exec summaries imply the point of reading a book is for its unique content. I find value in reflecting on how even known content *applies* to me, which can happen while reading long form. Also valuable to be quiet and disconnected for longer stretches of time (reading).1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes

Completely agree with this, it's reading as almost meditation. @blinkist isn't mutually exclusive with long form non fiction reading. It helps me identify if the fundamental idea(s) of a book is interesting enough for me to invest time in reading the whole book.
