1/ In startup land companies die and investors should be aware of that. Sometimes entrepreneurs that I invested in come to me really concerned about my reaction to their impending shutdown. I tell them that its a lot worse for them, than me and they shouldn't worry about me

Investors who were previously successful founders or have already built a reputation as a successful VC tend to handle this well. Non-founder investors, driven by achieving success as a VC rarely handle this well (imho).
