I’ve been told by my personal trainer that it’s unhealthy to work out 7 days a week. Firstly, things that would have been nice to know 5 months ago. Secondly, now I have to decide which is more important - the advice of my trainer or adherence to my New Year’s resolution.

No, just adjust the intensity and focus of the workout. Rest days are slippery slopes.

Cycling 20 miles instead of 35 miles doesn't count as a rest day Ray. My Apple Watch tells me about your "rest days"
