I’ve been told by my personal trainer that it’s unhealthy to work out 7 days a week. Firstly, things that would have been nice to know 5 months ago. Secondly, now I have to decide which is more important - the advice of my trainer or adherence to my New Year’s resolution.

No, just adjust the intensity and focus of the workout. Rest days are slippery slopes.

@nifferkin thinks it's a rest day if you do an hour of weights followed by a shakeout run, but where you don't do a *real* run. She would subscribe to your slippery slope religion. :) I'm more in the@tonsing camp.
