    Khalbaccha, an effigy made by stuffing a dead calf with hay. Because of the strength of maternal bonds, mother cows often stop lactating after their calves have died or been taken away. So, a khalbaccha is routinely used to mimic the presence of a calf to keep cows producing milk

    The farmers just raise and "care" for the animals, the consumers (incl. farmers) just consume the products. That nasty bit in the middle, where the knives, blood and killing animals occurs, happens in another dimension not to be filmed, spoken about or recognised.

    I’ve run into this before too. A woman said no cows/calves are killed on her farm. When I said, “because you send them to the slaughterhouse” she blocked me. I wonder how many blissfully ignorant consumers don’t question that comment and just believe them.

    Dairy farmers will try their absolute hardest to not admit they kill babies. Saw a dairy farmer say she didn't kill any calves....when she finally admitted that she sent them to "market" she blocked everyone.

    Whether it is for the environment or ethics, as long as it gets banned! P.S. I sincerely hope they move towards ditching dairy products next because they are pretty much the same industry with dairy calves feeding into the beef industry.

    I am so shocked. Just didn’t imagine anything like it. Amongst the other cruel things, depriving their babies of their milk breaks my heart. I shall be seeking out the alternatives.

    In Northern Ireland, pigs on a “high-welfare” farm – with “Red Tractor” certification – were filmed with gaping wounds and bloodied faces. They were eating each other alive, and many had been left to die on the farm floor.💔😡😡

    In fish farming as in slaughterhouses, no specific regulations protect fish. Because they are different, all drifts are allowed. They can't scream. However, fish suffer as much as other animals. Let’s no longer participate in their suffering 👇
