Hi Keem - Confirming this isn't true. There may be other reasons why these videos get flagged. Our Ad-friendly Guidelines state that incendiary & demeaning content isn't allowed. So if videos appear like it's ridiculing another creator, it might get picked up as not safe for ads.

I may need help understanding - a bunch of people who want to flame others are mad that YouTube’s advertisers deem that content not suitable for ads? Free speech for government doesn’t apply within private organizations and is different than freedom from consequence.

Okay, that still doesn’t cover the part where the advertisers have sole discretion regarding what content they choose to be associated with, and their ability to choose is without limits. Otherwise they could pull all ads from YouTube and everyone would be demonetized.

None of that is relevant to the fact that no business should be forced into associating their brand with another brand they find distasteful, or a brand that puts out distasteful content. It's your call to tell someone else they have to deal with you when in fact they do not.

Let me fix that last sentence since i dislexia'd in my head - You can't tell someone else they have to deal with you and have that be true. It doesn't work that way.

Scenario! You want to advertise and the Kkk has free speech. Your ads keep coming on their videos because they have free speech and you have no choice. You have to give them money to show your ads. You’re now affiliated with the kkk. How is that okay?

The uploader has the ability to turn off monetization and therefore ads. The advertisers have the right to not work with certain groups or people, which they get to hand pick because they pay. They’re paying - money transferred from them to the uploader - for the ad.
