Hello @TeamYouTube , I would like to know, why are not the thumbnails of the videos on my channel? What happens is that all my videos had thumbnails, and now they are no longer seen.pic.twitter.com/10DKNkIopT
You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
Someone above made the point: if auto generated prove to perform worse than custom, so vid get less views, less money, are YT going to compensate those people for the lost revenue, however small it is?
No, YT won't...just like YT doesn't compensate me if it starts favoring longer videos. It's their platform, I have licensed my content to them. I agree communication is weird and difficult and could be done better.
Just FYI, we’re a part of that sample and here are what the same vids look like with the thumbnails we created vs the auto generated ones.pic.twitter.com/JzCFrEOF1n
Tumbnail game strong!
You can tell which Creators are in YT's pocket and which aren't. Even other creators with millions of subscribers have an issue with this. I dont understand the need to protect this company. The point is this is for YT not for the creator...
Better auto-generated thumbnails are good for creators too. Lots of creators don't make their own thumbnails. I spent weekend yelling at YouTube like a month ago. I just don't think this is a big deal.
@Kaitlin_Benz @megchills It’s a little more than a short period of time. I realized last night they are mixing in auto-generated thumbnails on home feed, but show real thumbnail on channel.
The experiment has expanded and/or parameters changed.https://youtu.be/X7HZu7diWFo
And after I uploaded I realized that they changed the twit (@meganmorrone @jasonhowell ) thumbnail on Microsoft extends win 7 support as well, which is seen at the start of the video.
It's a creative platform, not a lab.
If a change like this attracts and retains more viewers - it ultimately benefits all - and IMO - will be the future. No reason to Freak
Also, this feature does get used by smaller/newer creators with limited time and resources. So if YT can garner enough data to improve this feature, that can in turn help a new creator with at least one of the hundreds of things creators have to do every single day, then why not!
