Our recap of the Wheel Reinvention Jam is now up on YouTube! We showed off 10 different submissions, ranging from cookbooks to UEFI libraries, and interviewed the project authors about their work.
This community is pretty amazing. ❤️

WhiteBox's timeline was heavily inspired by video editors.
Each expression gets a "track" with all its values laid out across time in a "clip" for every change.
There can be multiple "playheads": vertical highlights for each time the execution hits the cursor in your editor.

One of the most irritating things programmers do regularly is feel so good about learning a hard thing that they don't look for ways to to make it easy, or even oppose things that would do so.

Thanks to this amazing example, I easily found why I broke everything when tried to use depthstencil buffer.
I especially love that there's no stupid OOP cruft in it, so I can read and learn what's going on.

Welcome to the year 2022. Programming has regressed to the point where 1001 is considered an extraordinarily high number that could not possibly be handled by the modern computing infrastructure (from )

I'm excited to share how we've introduced WhiteBox to the students at Imperial College London!
A major goal for WhiteBox is to improve the learning process:
faster feedback => more chances to explore running code => better mental models.

Wow! #raylib has finally reached the **zero open issues** on GitHub! I think it's the first time since the library was published 9 years ago! Probably a good time for a new release! 😄 #opensource #gamedev #indiedev #learntocode #enjoycoding #improvements #fixes #zeroissues

In my many years as tech lead, later as consultant and then in , I believe the biggest enemy software engineers fight is the deep & common belief that one-size-fits-all solutions to problems (even hypothetical) always exist. Accepting they don't leads to better code.

I used a popular library in the React ecosystem. It's a sledgehammer that's commonly used to pound in finishing nails (as in my case). Its API changed radically underneath me, and now I'm stuck on an old major version. I probably should've just written my own.

The language shows their hand: pure anti-human condescension and disrespect for users.
Not now? Not ever. No I don't want to "see less often", nor do I want to "request" that an app does not track my activity. I am the driver of the software, not the other way around.

Is object-oriented programming bad? Not bad? What the heck is it anyway? Our latest fishbowl breaks down the many ideas of "OOP" to conclude that: yeah, it's pretty bad.
